HISTORY:

ColdSpell comes from the land of the “ice and snow” up in the north of Sweden. They where formed in 2005 by guitarist and songwriter Michael Larsson who was previously with the band R.A.W, a band that recorded two albums in the 90′s.
The band took the world by storm with their “Infinite Stargaze” release in early 2009, a recording that draws influences from a mixture of everything they grew up with from the groove of the 70’s to the choruses and melodies of the 80’s, mixed with the raw and naked excitement of the 90’s, not forgetting the production expertise of the millennium.

Coldspell’s “Infinite Stragaze” album was released in 2009 and did create a stir in rock circles. Songs like “Keep on Believin”, “Eye of the Storm”, “Night Falls” and “Shot Down” won fans over time and time again. The album received stunning reviews all over the world and was on several album “toplists” for 2009 and “The album of the year” at RockRealms.com (category “heavy, hard and melodic rock”).

And two years later in 2011 the new album “Out from the Cold” was released, once again mixed by Tommy Hansen in Denmark, Tommy of course having previously worked with Helloween, TNT, Pretty Maids, Jorn and Pagan’s Mind just to mention a few! Artwork was done by Eric Philippe.
Between these 2 albums there where some changes in the line-up when Tobbe and Tommi left the band and 2 old friends of Michael from Uppsala joined ColdSpell for this second album release and we are talkin about Perra Johansson (ex.Crawley/Lost Souls) on drums and Anders “Kebbe” Lindmark on bass (ex.Dalton/ RAW)

Its now 2013 and a new album “Frozen Paradise” is about to be released on the 20th of september and hopefully this new album will take the band to new hights and ColdSpell will have an album that will please all ColdSpell fans and hopefully generate some new followers! This album is also mixed by T. Hansen and the artwork is done by Eric Philippe.
Earlier this year “Kebbe” decided to leave the band due to personal reasons and on bass we now have Chris Goldsmith – “so we like to send a huge thanks to our dear friend Kebbe for the time in ColdSpell and a warm welcome to Chris, we have a mission to complete”!

With this amazing 5 piece band and with this new album-release we are now ready to hit the scene and will definitely be a force to be reckoned with in 2013 and forward.
We are thrilled and we are ready – so bring it on!

Former Whitesnake guitarist Adrian Vandenberg has released the first video teaser from his new band Vandenberg’s MoonKings, whose debut album is to be released through Mascot Records on February 24th, 2014.

Vandenberg’s MoonKings are Adrian Vandenberg (guitar), Jan Hoving (vocals), Sem Christoffel (bass) and Mart Nijen Es (drums). The band is currently in the studio recording their debut album.

Adrian Vandenberg rose to worldwide prominence with Vandenberg, the melodic rock band that hit internationally with the powerfull ballad “Burning Heart”. Adrian solidified his status as one of the most talented rock guitarists around when he joined David Coverdale’s hard rock supergroup Whitesnake, co-writing many of their Billboard Hot 100 hits, like “The Deeper The Love” and “Now You’re Gone”, and supplying the legendary guitar solo to “Here I Go Again”.

After leaving Whitesnake, Adrian concentrated on his successful career as an artist, exhibiting his paintings in prestigious galleries all over Europe. Music however was always prevalent on his mind, so as soon as he had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented young musicians, he started creating new music.

“We are proud to have joined the Mascot family. It’s a great company with fantastic people that love the music they work with,” Adrian Vandenberg enthuses. “The band is raring to go and prove itself to the world, so we’re anxious to finish the album and get it out there and I’m very happy that Ed van Zijl is giving us the opportunity to do so.”

The Dutch rock group will join, amongst others, Joe Bonamassa, Volbeat, Gov’t Mule, Beth Hart, Zakk Wylde/Black Label Society and Kenny Wayne Shepherd on the Rotterdam, Holland based record company’s roster.

Gypsy Pisterlos are back! With a brand new line-up, the rockers have released a music video for “The Dirty Side Of Midnight”, the first single from their upcoming album.

Joining founding member and guitarist Iggie Pistolero is bassist Kenny K Doll, drummer Jeff Pistoleros and former Wrathchild singer Gaz Harris. “If you love this song you are gonna love the album,” said an excited Harris. “I feel honoured to be a part of this.”

Gypsy Pistoleros’ humble beginnings began in Zaragoza, Spain. The catalyst? A support slot with Adlers Appetite in Spain in 2006. Since then the concept has become a kick-ass reality with the Pistoleros flaunting their way across the UK, Europe and the U.S., touring with numerous acts and reaching the Sleaze Roxx Top 10 of 2007 with their debut album ‘Wild, Beautiful, Damned!’.

2012 saw the release of a glammed out rendition of Ricky Martin’s infamous chart topping hit, ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’. The band’s first release on the Heavy Metal Records Label, ‘Forever Wild, Beautiful & Damned’, came out shortly after.

Singer and co-founder Lee Pistoleros left the band after the release of ‘Forever Wild, Beautiful & Damned’ to concentrate on a solo career. In August of this year Gypsy Pistoleros named Gaz Harris, best known for his work on Wrathchild’s ‘Stakkattakktwo’, as their new frontman

Gain/Sony Music recording artists Crashdiet have solidified themselves as Sweden’s premiere glam metal outfit by being nominated for a Swedish Grammy for their fourth album, ‘The Savage Playground’, which was released earlier in 2013.

Produced and recorded by Otto Wellton at Kingside Studios, ‘The Savage Playground’ slammed into the Swedish national charts, peaking at #2 on the strength of the album’s first single “Cocaine Cowboys”. “It’s a fantastic feeling when you reach that high on the chart,” says Crashdiet guitarist Martin Sweet. “It only confirms that our fanbase is growing every year and we’re tremendously thankful for that!”

Crashdiet will be battling against Ghost, Nicke Borg Homeland, The Kristet Utseende and Watain in the ‘Hard Rock and Metal’ category.

2013 was the busiest year of the band’s career to date, with extreme highs and lows in spades. “2013 is a year we will never forget,” reflects Sweet. “It’s probably the year that made the biggest impact on us as persons. We had some great highs and horrible lows — our manager’s passing — which will definitely change the way we look at things forever. The passing of Michael Sunden, is, of course, heartbreaking. He will remembered as the guy who took us to America for the first time. A true visionary.”

With the Grammy nomination, the band ends the year on a huge note. “This is our second Grammy nomination and we’re surprised, as always, and of course, very honoured to be a part of this old tradition. Win or lose, we’re happy either way. We do what we do,” wraps up Sweet.

The newest band ready to take aim at the creative void in the hard rock world, Red Dragon Cartel, are set to release their debut album via Frontiers Records. The self-titled debut by the band made up of guitar legend Jake E. Lee, bassist Ronnie Mancuso, singer D.J. Smith and drummer Jonas Fairley is set for release on January 24th in Europe and January 28th in North America.

Jake E. Lee is best known for his work in Badlands and as guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne on ‘Bark At The Moon’ and ‘The Ultimate Sin’ albums. Red Dragon Cartel also features various guest appearances from some of music’s most notable faces including legendary Cheap Trick vocalist Robin Zander, original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno, Kill Devil Hill/Pantera bassist Rex Brown, Slash’s Conspirators Todd Kearns and Brent Fitz and In This Moment front woman Maria Brink. The album was produced by Ronnie Mancuso and Jake E. Lee and was executive produced, mixed and mastered by Kevin Churko (In This Moment, Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch).

From the opening riff of “Deceived” to final sustained piano chord of “Exquisite Tenderness”, it is clear Red Dragon Cartel has created an album that stands amongst some of the greatest hard rock albums of all time. Infectious songs such as “Shout It Out”, “Wasted” and “Slave” showcase the band’s ability to write memorable hooks and vocal melodies. Robin Zander of Cheap Trick lends his voice to the track “Feeder” and a lyric video for the song has now been posted online. Maria Brink of In This Moment lends her unique vocals to the track “Big Mouth.” Paul Di’Anno and Sass Jordan also lend their talents to the band’s debut. Jake E. Lee’s trademark playing style instantly shines through and picks up right where he left off.

The US Festival (US is an acronym for “Unite Us In Song”) held on Memorial Day of 1983 was a massive three-day celebration of music and culture sponsored by Steve Wozniak, formerly of Apple Computer. ‘US Festival 1983: Days 1 – 3’ will be released to iTunes on November 19th with a DVD to follow on December 3rd.

Wozniak financed the entire thing himself (approximately 10 million dollars), and his motivation quoted as “to throw a big party in the middle of nowhere” is quite an understatement. This festival was a follow up to 1982 Labor Day inaugural Us Festival events. The festivals were intended to be the celebration of evolving technologies; a marriage of music, computers, television and people.

‘US Festival 1983: Days 1 – 3’ includes the three days of new wave, heavy metal and rock in 1983 with performances from Judas Priest, the Scorpions, Triumph, U2, the Clash, Stevie Nicks, INXS, Men at Work, Stray Cats, Missing Persons and more. This includes the legendary U2 performance of “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, The Clash’s final performance with Mick Jones, a seminal performance for INXS in the US, and many other landmark moments in music history. It is estimated that over 670,000 fans attended.

The festivals included large air-conditioned tents featuring the US Festival Technology Exposition, a dazzling display of then-cutting edge computers, software, and electronic music devices. Also making a debut were installations of “out-door rain”, perforated PVC nozzles that sprayed water to fight the fierce hundred-degree heat.

The US Festival interest remains strong 30 years later in pop culture with mentions in The Simpsons, Malcom In The Middle, Dharma & Greg and other popular TV shows. US Festival 1983 is produced by Icon Television Music, Inc. and Unuson Corporation with the cooperation of Steve Wozniak. This is the only Unuson sanctioned official release of US Festival 1983 at iTunes and on DVD.

US Festival 1983 is directed by award winning filmmaker and music biographer Glenn Aveni and includes insight from Mark Goodman, one of the original VJ’s that covered the Us Festival in 1983 for the newly launched MTV Channel.

A leading force in the Swedish “sleaze rock” scene of the 2000s — a revival of the glam metal (or hair metal) of the 1980s, but with a more pronounced punk element, often rawer in sound and raunchier in style — CRASHDÏET formed in 2000, taking inspiration from Skid Row, Guns N’ Roses, Kiss, W.A.S.P., and G.G. Allin, and vowing to bring back the big shows and big songs of “unpredictable and dangerous” rock & roll.

In April of 2010 they will release their third album entitled “Generation Wild“, a masterpiece that pretty much sums up the extraordinary but yet tragic history of a band, determined to never give up their dream.

CRASHDÏET has become known as a band with a huge following of diehard fans, and although its their third time around with a new singer (Simon Cruz), the massive interest for the band never seems to fade.

The group was signed by Universal in 2004 — making them, by their reckoning, the first sleaze rock act on a major label in over ten years — and released their debut, Rest in Sleaze, the following year. The album hit number 12 on the national charts and spawned the singles “Riot in Everyone,” “Breaking the Chainz,” “Knokk ‘Em Down,” and “It’s a Miracle,” and the band launched an auspicious tour of Sweden to support it in the fall of 2005.

In January 2006, however, the band’s lead singer and guiding light, 25-year-old Dave Lepard, committed suicide in his apartment after a bout of depression. His three surviving bandmates decided they couldn’t continue the band without Lepard, but given an unexpected outpouring of sympathy and support from fans worldwide, they performed one final tribute gig in February. Several months later, the ex-members of Crashdïet met to discuss future plans, decided to continue on as a new band, and began searching for a new singer.

By October, the trio announced they had decided to continue under the name Crashdïet after all, with the approval of Lepard’s family, so as to keep his spirit alive and continue to spread the band’s message. In January of 2007, a year after Lepard’s suicide, Crashdïet debuted with their new singer, H. Olliver Twisted. A sophomore album, The Unattractive Revolution, was released in October, preceded by the single “In the Raw,” and reached number 11 on the Swedish albums chart. But their collaberation turned out to be short-lived. Due to his lack of commitment, Olliver was fired in the summer of 2008.

With the new studio album “The Savage Playground”, recorded during summer/autumn 2012 in native Sweden, the band has their minds set to break through on a world-wide basis with a tour that is being penned as we speak but that will see the band doing their first full-on US tour as well as going to Japan for the first time.
